Twenty-one year old Jennifer Ann Carden of Munday, Texas was crowned the 2004 National Watermelon Queen during the National Watermelon Association's Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jennifer is the daughter of Jeanie and David Turek and Jim Carden of Munday, Texas. She is a senior attending University of North Texas, majoring in Radio, Television and Film.

As National Watermelon Queen, Jennifer will travel extensively throughout the United States, promoting the watermelon industry and making guest appearances. She will give tips on the selection of watermelon in addition to discussing the nutritional and economic value of the product She will also serve as a lobbyist, and spokesperson for the industry.

Jennifer will hold the title for one year. (February 2004-2005)

The National Watermelon Association has members in 30 states and promotes the best interest of the industry from production to consumption.
